Re: Center channel speaker sounds boxy?

The center channel dialog boominess might be coming from the sub(s). Many like to run their subs hotter than they should be which boosts the bass from the center channel too much. This will get worse...

Re: Into the Storm - Blu-ray Review

Wife and I watched this movie on Blu-ray last night. Quite enjoyable, sound was good which made the movie, nice amount of couch vibrating LFE when the tornadoes got close. Effects generally pretty...

Re: Dayton Audio UM18-22 18" Ultimax vs Dayton Audio 18" Reference Series HO

I recently built left and right subs using the DIY sound group Stonehenge flat packs and Dayton RSS460HO-4 drivers as I was primarily searching for good midbass rather than extreme ultra low bass...

Re: Under floor Buttkicker LFE or other transducer experience?

I must try that 2x6" mounting method for my Ibeam VT200. Right now I just have it bolted to the underside of the plywood and the effect is fairly localized to a circle of about 3 feet diameter.

Re: what are your recommendations for $2,500 subwoofer

Multiple subwoofers are very difficult for the average person to EQ properly. I've tried many subs in my basement theater system, including two HSU VTF-15H's (which were sold soon after). A single...

Re: Paradigm Owners...

I owned a pair of Monitor 7's V6 and the matching center. These speakers didn't do anything right for me, dull, lifeless, no midrange punch, lack of bass, treble distortion at higher volumes.

Re: L/C/R Upgrade $1,000 budget, advice?

Pro audio or pro-audio based DIY speakers if you want realistic cinema sound. Normal "Hi-Fi" speakers won't cut it. I've been running three Electro-voice ELX-112 speakers behind an AT screen for a...

Re: Passive PA speakers for HT.

I've been using three Electro-Voice ELX112 speakers for L-C-R duty behind an acoustically transparent screen for the past six months or so. I've owned and tried NHT Fours with Three center, Paradigm...
