Re: How to "bass crawl" to place dual subs?

My guess is that your original second proposal would be most expedient:
* Place one subwoofer in the primary listening position, playing pink noise
* crawl for "best" bass (either by ear or ideally...

Re: Passive to Active Subwoofer convertor for Denon AVR 2312ci

Unless you already got rid of it, why not just run the AVR 2312ci subwoofer output to an input on your old receiver?

Re: DEQ2496 digital input volume

I encountered the same thing with DES2496 fed from iPad via UCA222,
solved by reducing all GEQ channels by 3dB..

Re: The Official $2,500 Speaker Evaluation / Home Audition Event

Yes, in my limited experience, it is difficult to agree on material with which all listeners are sufficiently familiar
to identify reproduction differences, not least because folks will become so...

Re: REW V5 Beta feedback - confounded Midi Preferences

Beta 8 Comms Preferences with [v] Enable Midi looks good on Snow Leopard OS X

.. except a typo in Help: "crach" should be "crash".

Thanks!

Re: REW V5 Beta feedback - BFD MIDI

That would be the "1d" and "2d" sys-ex data receive and dump modes,
as enumerated on pg 18 of the DSP1124P PDF.

I was thinking about the "4C" setting for controller command configuration on page...

Re: REW V5 Beta feedback - BFD MIDI on MacBook

Was this intended to be "BFD does NOT have MIDI messages.."?
Page 17 of the DSP1124P PDF indicates that setting 4C should report filter settings.

I am trying to establish MIDI communications...

Re: height speakers for DSX, DPL IIz

I used a pair of these on wooden shelves hung from a pitched plank-and-beam ceiling
at 45 degree azimuth and elevation from listening positions.
Bottom shelves were cut 3/8 inch narrower than the...

Re: height speakers for DSX, DPL IIz

Well, I like the idea of securing speakers well away from the front baffle,
but I am reluctant to screw into the cabinets and I am concerned about
coupling speaker vibrations into the ceiling.

I...

height speakers for DSX, DPL IIz

For best results, I read that these should form a 45 degree from horizontal.
Since we sit more than the room height from our screen, that means ceiling mounts.
At any rate, those height speakers...

Re: Option 2

I wonder how many folks with more than one have matching subs?

In the olden days, I would feed an audio generator into the preamp and one channel of an X-Y scope,
with a microphone on the...

Option 2

Unfortunately, the Onkyos do not allow one subwoofer output to be dedicated to LFE
with the other to high-passed mains, which works best for my mis-matched subwoofers.
My Denon 5805 died and and...

Re: Ducting for Home Theaters

Agreed.
One problem with basement home theater: concrete and cinderblocks do not absorb bass,
and basement ceilings are fairly transparent to it.

My basement is for junk; there is a brick wall...

Re: Ducting for Home Theaters

If those returns are wood on 3 sides, I wonder whether that meets code for new construction.
Anyway, I salvaged most of that sheet metal for other purposes and replaced it with fiberglass duct...

August shipment warnings?

When SubEQ preorders are filled in August, will there be prior email shipment notifications/confirmations?
I would hate for mine to be delivered while away for a week or so..

Re: The astounding new AS-EQ1 SubEQ goes on sale!

I have not found fiberglass insulation effective for damping bass resonances.

Agreed. I replaced metal ductwork in my nearly 50-year old house with fiberglass duct board
both to kill resonances...

Re: Official SVSound AS-EQ1 SubEQ Giveaway Thread

I am wondering how differently (better) a BFD would work if a SubEQ was first used to disable
MultEQ for bass, then removed..

Re: The astounding new AS-EQ1 SubEQ goes on sale!

In appends #108-9, Ed Mullen indicated that Audyssey's directly accepts the Pro microphone,
so it probably differs analogously to how an Denon CI AVR differs from one with XT which does not support...
