It is 2500 but it's a living room. Stuff's everywhere, furniture and whatnot.

Re: Is a SVS PB10 NSD worth $250?

Hopefully this thread is not too old. What do you think about the issue version for $200. My room is 22*14*8. Regular old living room/den. Carpet, if it matters.

Re: How do I calculate the brace volume?

So maybe something like, 2*2*18/1728=0.04166666666 * 2 braces = 08333333333 in^3?

If I have a 6ft^3 enclosure, how do I calculate the brace volume? I don't know what to put into the calculator.

WinISD Beta and SPL question

I'm looking at WinISD beta (not pro), and used "Dayton 10." When I look at the box it gives about 2.6 ft.^3, vented box, tuned to 33Hz.

When I look a the SPL tab, it shows output all the way to...

Question How do I know what to put into the enclosure calculator?

Something obvious to everyone I'm sure. How do you know what to put in the enclosure calculator on HT? How do I know the values in teh first place, or better yet, what value goes where for the...

Re: Is the IB385-8 okay for home theater?

That is a big enclosure it looks like. Dayton (http://www.daytonaudio.com/index.php/ib385-8-15-infinite-baffle-subwoofer.html) said 20ft^3 box, vented. I had to read what Infinite Baffle was. I...

Anything in the Atlanta, GA. area for sourcing drivers and plate amps?

Seems like everything is on Parts Express. Anyone know of anything in the Atlanta, GA. area by chance, for getting drivers and plate amps?

Is the IB385-8 okay for home theater?

I found a couple of the Dayton Audio IB385-8 15" Infinite Baffle Subwoofer on Craigslist, $75 each. Are these okay for a home theater subwoofer? If I get them, do I just do WinISD as usual? I saw...

Re: What is the physical difference between a car subwoofer box and a home theater subwoofer box/enclosure?

Yes. I don't have the tools, and I saw lots of cheap MDF boxes on Craigslist. Some are probably junky, but at least the ones in the store were very heavy and felt sturdy.

I don't know how to...

Re: Can I just build a 3 cubic foot box?

I'm dumb and thanks for the help.

I'm looking at it and I put in for the signal 100. It calculated SPL is 86.9db at 20Hz. The frequency response is 31Hz. So does this mean that WinISD keep...

What is the physical difference between a car subwoofer box and a home theater subwoofer box/enclosure?

As far as materials, aren't they the same?
If there were a place for a plate amp, wouldn't that be the same?
This makes the big assumption the box has the correct cubic feet, but most were about...

Re: Can a car subwoofer be used as diy home subwoofer and vice versa?

I was at BestBuy looking at subwoofers that were returned. They might not be that great, but they were cheap enough for me to think about using them, $50 for some Pioneer that was 20Hz on the low...

Re: Can I just build a 3 cubic foot box?

Can you attach the .wdr file, so I can see what I entered wrong?

That doesn't look like too good a sub, does it? It his negative SPL readings.

Re: Can I just build a 3 cubic foot box?

Can I just build a 3 cubic foot box?

I have read so much I can't figure it out. I have Winisd, and I enter all the stuff. I see the box it suggests, but then I look at real projects and none of the enclosures look like what Winisd or...

Re: Is a SVS PB10 NSD worth $250?

I got him to take $200, but he wouldn't let me listen first. It was on Craigslist, and I think the person didn't want someone in his house. I understand that, but I've been burned on speakers...

Is a SVS PB10 NSD worth $250?

I found one on Craigslist. It's an old sub, but people love the SVS brand, and I've never heard one. Is that too much?

EDIT: NSD version PB-10 NSD. Thanks.

Re: SVS PB1000 and SB1000 Subwoofer Review Discussion Thread

How does the PB-1000 compare to the Dayton SUB-1200? Don't laugh! Is the SVS PB-1000 $400 better? Thanks.

Edit: Movies only.
