Re: Christmas Build

Wow. Kreg joints -- talk about overkill . I like it. Looks fantastic!!! Looks to me like you really pulled it off. The bottom of the manifold is braced against a bottom plate that's...

Re: Christmas Build

Looks great man! Mine definitely took a lot longer than I thought it would too. But it was well worth the trouble!

Re: Christmas Build

Making progress and wow you're not messing around -- taking out that concrete... did you run this by an architect? Or do you know for sure that the concrete's not load bearing?

Re: Christmas Build

I'd be careful what you wish for -- my wife's already trying to blame me and my new IB for a plumbing leak we just got! It was just a ridiculously bad job of installing two stacked wax rings...

Re: Christmas Build

Agreed. I'd mimic the original plan as pictured but with a series of triangle braces made of 2x4's. You could clap plywood or OSB to each side of the braces to give them extra strength and...

Re: Christmas Build

Almost done! I hope it doesn't flex on you. If it does you can always overbuild later like you said. Steel plate was once recommended to me for a baffle with even better spacing than yours, and I...

Re: Christmas Build

Lookin' good! Do you have a massive pile of wood clamps or are you just gonna screw and glue?

So no box -- just the baffle mounted onto the wall and the magnets nestling into the joist spaces? ...

Re: Christmas Build

I like both looks, and I like the extruded baffle. The Fi drivers have a nice backside, every bit as attractive as the front to me if not more. A couple issues that may be of some concern with the...

Re: Christmas Build

Well you need not worry. That's just how I would have done it. I think you're lucky I didn't talk to you first! :dumbcrazy:

I just modeled them up both ways and I can definitely see the...

Re: Christmas Build

Well it looks like you decided on the S4 version and to wire the four subs in series/parallel to a 4ohm bridged EP4000. That'll net you about 600w per driver. Risky with no SSF. Just be careful. ...

Re: Christmas Build

I don't think you need to brace the wall at all. The drivers are dual opposed in your manifold, and there should be no mechanical forces at all against the wall.
