Re: LMS-5400 buy-in

I bid on it up to 840$ and that was really stretching my budget with Christmas coming up and all. I just couldn't afford to go higher right now. I had the local pick up to save myself $80...

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

I called TC last week. It seems that the real price of the LMS ultra18 is going to come in at around 1500 delivered direct from them. Thats the wholesale discounted price. I really want a pair of...

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

I assumed that you had ruled that out, but just didn't remember you mentioning it...

Illka,
Great job on getting the testing done and making us think it would be weeks still:T. I'm really...

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

This might be a dumb question, but are you sure that it was the driver and not the PR's that were out of gas? I wouldn't seem to be too hard to over excursion those PR's with a 5400 and CE4000.

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

Lookin good Illka! I think you should tune that sucka as low as is reasonable. Maybe you can try it with 2 tunings, one around 16 and the other one lower, if it will go without exceeding the PR's...

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

Illka,
Are the enclosure/s for the LMS's done? Do you know what alignments you'll be going with and can you give an estimate of when the outdoor testing will take place? Sorry if you've already...

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

No I actually wasn't kidding. It doesn't look that bad. Yes it gets a little peaky around 13-15hz, but it's only 2db's. Whats wrong with using a little EQ? The 10inch vent would have a port resonance...

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

Actually it looks pretty good in 650 liters tuned to 14hz with a 10" diameter port if you ask me:scratchhead:. You could use an 8" port but its not going to be enough if you really crank it.

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

I knew I should have bought 2 of these:duh: I guess the best that we can hope for now, if the MSRP is $2999, is that they'll be $1499:sick: :gah:

Re: LMS-5400 / RL-p18" buy-in

Very nice:bigsmile: You are going to keep the LMS's right? Assuming that they are all that they are cracked up to be:praying:. Good luck with the tests and thanks for all of your time and efforts...
