Re: Waterfall displaying as a rectangle no readable information

Your trace capture shows you ( apparently ) measured at 300db ( which is pretty doubtful don't you think? ) .

Next time you measure, don't cut corners and ignore the SPL calibration window ( if...

Re: How to Direct REW Output to Alsa plugin

Okay then ( ),

Virtual Audio Cable ( as a phrase ) is the gold-standard to use in a self-directed Google search.

Add Ubuntu to the search string and one gets;

( Googled ) Virtual Audio...

Re: REW not picking up input when calibrating...

Make sure the selected input ( in REW's preferences window ) matches the actual ( physical L or R ) SoundCard connection that you have your meter plugged into .

You don't ever want to hear the...

Re: Input signal not working

Why not just go back to a version of Win10 that's working correctly with your hardware ?

( A bit of snooping round shows that this developer's build has issues ) .

Re: Input signal not working

Try swapping the selected input channel ( as found in the preferences window ).

I believe REW defaults to the right chnl input ( after a fresh install ) while most people seem to prefer to use...

Re: Spatial Averaging with REW ?

Here's a useful thread to read. (http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/262246-moving-mic-measurement.html)

The "moving mic technique" should give you similar results ( to the multiplexed...

Re: Trouble with ASIO4all v2 driver

Hi George,

Glad you got your situation sorted out .

What I'd like to know is whether or not this is a another new Win10 wrinkle that now needs to be kept track of ( ie; plugging in the UMIK-1...

Re: Trouble with ASIO4all v2 driver

While you haven't actually articulated that you're using HDMI between your ( unknown model of ) computer and your Denon AVR, I'm making this assumption since the word DENON is apparently...

Re: Trouble with ASIO4all v2 driver

ASIO4ALL can appear to be temperamental.

One must make sure that within it ( ASIO4ALL ) all the WDM Devices ( one wishes to use ) are activated ( Triangles & Squares are lit in blue ) as seen in...

Re: Mid-Hi crossover time aligning with REW ?

Once a trace is captured with a T=0 reference point, then one can look within the IR ( Impulse ) window to see time of flight info .

Compare the TOC's of 2 traces to calculate the offset between...

Re: Mid-Hi crossover time aligning with REW ?

Klaus,

Are you asking me ( the above ) ?

REW traces are only referenced to a time Zero ( correlated I suppose ) if one first sets up a T=0, reference channel ( via a cabled loopback of output...

Re: Mid-Hi crossover time aligning with REW ?

Minimum Phase traces have had Excess Phase stripped out ( removed ) .

Excess Phase has all the "time of flight" information contained within it.
- TOF is what's needed for determining Time...

Re: REW with USB 7.1 external sound card - not working

Hi Tim,

REW should not have any problem addressing the IO's ( through ASIO4ALL ) of any generic 2-chnl USB soundcard ( especially at 44.1/48K sampling rates ) .

Since you are experiencing just...

Re: REW with USB 7.1 external sound card - not working

Hi Tim,

I do get something out of these threads from time to time ( & it's not predictable where this new knowledge will come from ).
- Now I know that a 96K WDM driver should work with ASIO4ALL....

Re: ASIO4ALL 96K Sampling Rate, Success ( or not )?

Hi John,

If a user has a reliable ASIO driver I don't feel there's much of a reason to use ASIO4ALL.

OTOH, I do typically use ASIO4ALL when creating a combo driver ( UMIK-1 for input & the PC...
