Re: Subs for new theater, two (s)PB2000s or one ultra?

If your willing to build DIY is the best bang for the buck. You could build 2 sealed 18" subs with your budget. :)

But between your choices i would go with one of the sealed SVS subs since the...

Re: Official Klipsch Owners Thread

Me too! I'm bracing a pair of KLF 30's that had none at all :( I'm getting ti diaphragms and Crites rebuilt crossovers. Should be here by Fri.

Since you are getting the KLF 30's are you going to...

Re: 5.1 Speaker setup for a small (9.5' x 14') room

Another vote for placing the surrounds slightly behind you and elevated if possible. You can go with monopoles for surrounds like the Energy Take 5 if you want, but in a small room i would recommend...

Re: Suggest good holywood movie to test out Psb image series speakers

Both Sherlock Holmes movies. Good test for your center because to me Downey mumbles most of his lines throughout both movies but with a great center you should be able to understand it.

Also...

Re: Addiction to buying Speakers strikes again, Was it worth it?

+1 That's why there are so many different brands and options out there because everyone's ears are different! If the speakers sound good with your equipment with your ears in your room then that's...

Re: I need help :/

I don't think any sub for a few hundred more from any of the internet direct companies previously stated is going to "blow the other away". But i would stick to a FIRM budget from experience :) I...

Re: AVR for Klipsch RF 82 II, advice needed

Thanks for the great explaination beeman! I was looking at the refurb either denon 4520 or marantz 7008 from A4L. Probably go with the denon now. And i'm gonna have to check out "Flyboys" "Act of...

Re: I need help :/

If you are comfortable building i would start looking at the DIY threads for subs. Probably the biggest bang for the buck there. But if you are looking for a built one then another vote for SVS and...

Re: sub comparison

I don't think the Outlaw LFM-1 plus would be a big upgrade. How much more output are you exactly looking for? Budget and size of your room might help with suggestions as well.

Re: Onkyo Subwoofer's

If 150 is your max budget i would pick the second one especially since your room is so large. And whichever one you pick i would place it nearfield if you can.

Another option might be the polk...

Re: now that the Stereo Integrity 18's are gone...

Thanks a lot guys. I didn't realize the normal price wasn't a huge difference from the last offered price. But i guess any savings is worth it! :)

Re: now that the Stereo Integrity 18's are gone...

That's great! Gives me enough time to save so i can get 4 drivers at once! Do you mean we can preorder now? Or is SI preordering the drivers now?

Re: Onkyo Subwoofer's

Since they are both powered subs either one would be fine. However, i would look to get a sub to match your room and not the receiver.

Re: Salk/Rythmik 15 With Dual 15" Passive Radiators Discussion Thread

Wow. Looks like an amazing sub. Salk should definitely put up specs and pictures on their site. Way out of my budget though :(

Great review!

Re: Four LMS-R 15 & Two Ultimax 15 sealed --Sweden--

Those cabinets look VERY solid. Great work. I bet some veneer would make them look absolutely beautiful. I wish i had the tools and skills to build one.

Re: IR receivers for Onkyo

A simple ir repeater should work fine. I've been using this one for almost two years and has worked perfectly. However, there are lots of other ones as well.

Re: Denon AVR-X1000 for $299

Pretty good entry level receiver. Powers my friend's energy rc micro set pretty well. However, no preouts for anyone who is wondering and wants to add an amp later.

Re: Sub bass speaker recomendation

I'm guessing it's the Mordaunt Short Carnival 5 center? Since your system is mostly for movies i would build your system around the center when you eventually upgrade everything. I've heard many...

Agreed. Plus if the guy is a jerk i would personally pass unless the item is very hard to find :). I have bought from accessories4less and had great success.
