I have doubts it can produce 1200w RMS myself, but if it works well and holds up, it'll probably be fine.
The fact that it's big brother has issues is concerning though.

If you want an amp for a diy sub that has a plate amp on the back this is a nice choice. I plugged it right into my avrs sub out and I was good to go. I've had it for about a month now and I'm very happy with this thing. It is just plain out balls to the wall powerful. The only reason I chanced it when I bought this amp was because it was a refurbished and PE was selling it for 350. So it was this or the sa1000 or getting a PA amp and having to buy special wires, cleanboxpro, and a crossover or minidsp. I'm so glad I didn't go the sa1000 route or the headache route.

For the money it seems to me there is only two legitimate choices out there. Get this or a inuke/other PA amp and all the things needed to get it to work. Probably spending close to the same amount of money but much more time and energy.

Much more time and energy also gives you another channel of amplification, and the ability to use it on another sub/ take it out of the rack and go, etc...
A little more work, but more options.

That is a true statement. I guess it really depends on what your looking for though. I installed the small controller On the front of my subwoofer box. So wherein I turn everything on a little box on the front lights up and says loading. That's so cool to me. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
I wonder why the guy from earlier said that there was no LEDs. There's 3. Is he looking at the same amp I am

Don't know.
If you are happy, that is ALL that counts.
I get the "ease" of a plate, I really do, I just like more options, and less wasted space is all.
Enjoy your sub, I'm sure it's rockin'!

I got lucky when they had one returned/refurbished. I think I paid like 363 or something like that. 600 was out of my price range at the time. But I think 600 as long as this is exactly what your looking for. But if all you care about is power for the money a berhringer if the way to go.
