Is there another way?

Hello all!I have just realized that there is an issue with my AVR. It allows some sound to get to my subs, but very weak.
Here is what has been going on http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...ng-issues.html

Is there another way to get the what is necessary make my subs work? Without having to buy a new receiver.

Thanks Mike

Hope to learn something new, and know how to use it.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried resetting the amp to factory defaults to see if it is a setting that has been incorrectly adjusted?

Silence is golden but duct tape is silver.

I have not. But like I side when used this sine wave freq generator app from phone straight to amp things seemed louder and more defined. When I introduced the AVR into the path things basically went lifeless. I cranked volume all the way and not hardly a change.

Re: Is there another way?

When you plugged the phone into the amp did that have the high pass filter in the circuit or was it straight in and also what model is the AVR?

Re: Is there another way?

I did it both ways and then introduced the AVR. AVR is Onkyo 809. I had a sound issue right after warranty. It just quit. They fixed it. Apparently had too many instances of the same issue. Not sure if there is an unresolved issue as far as the preouts are concerned. I assume all 7.2 channels receive voltage from source. I dont have an amp for mains so I would not know.

Hope to learn something new, and know how to use it.

Re: Is there another way?

Is it possible to ask them to have a look at it again as it doesn't seem to be 100%
With my dealing with Onkyo they have been more than helpful.

Silence is golden but duct tape is silver.
