MC2 amplifiers

Hello,

Are the Mc2 amplifiers well regarded in the US?
I currently own a T1500 which I will be driving a DIY subwoofer with once I get it built.

Just wanted to know if anyone here had any opinion about them.

(Sorry canīt post link because to little posts)

Re: MC2 amplifiers

The specs look good although there's no telling how it will do below 20 hz. What kind of sub are you planning?

Re: MC2 amplifiers

Your right.
Is it common that amps perform badly under 20Hz?

I tried to google it a little and there seem to be few producers that declares specs under 20Hz.

Iīm not sure about the sub yet.
All i know is that I want a large driver(s) (18") and a relatively small sealed enclosure(s)
TC 5400 Ultra is a wet dream, but unfortunately very pricey (then add shipping to Sweden and VAT)

The Maelstrom 18īs that came up in the classifieds here the other day looks interesting also.

Re: MC2 amplifiers

Grab the Maelstrom while you can, it'll need 4.5 cu.ft. for a Q of .7 and will easily handle 2000 watts as shown.

Re: MC2 amplifiers

I just might do that.

They are Maelstrom gen 1, but there canīt be a world of difference i guess.

Re: MC2 amplifiers

Gen 1 needs 7.1 cu.ft. for a Q of .7 and take 1500 watts to Xmax at 14 hz.
