Amp recommendation Tempest X2

Hi boys and girls. My PE500watt plate amp has put me in a bind. I can either send it back for me to repair costing me $100 or I can just buy a new external amp giving me more build options in the future.
I have built the EZ Slot port Kevin put together. Here is my thread http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...ort-built.html

Are there are reasonably priced stand alone amps (not plate amps) I need to keep an eye on?
Thanks in advance!!

Brian

Those are both plate amps right? I'm not not looking for plate amp options though.

Whats your budget?

The Behringer 2500 is still a pretty good deal.

Re: Amp recommendation Tempest X2

Well, I am just being a cheapskate but wouldn't an EP1500 work? I guess what I am a little concerned with (or ignorant) is the crossovers and filters.

I may make another box for the TempestX2...a much bigger box and I don't want to have to find a way to hide a plate amp when I make the other box.
