Amp Wiring Impedance Help - Behringer EP2500

Hey guys, got a question for wiring up my Behringer EP2500 amp. For the past two years I have been running a Eminance Eminator 15" 4-ohm SVC in a custom box for the past 2 years with GOOD results but recently came across an awesome deal on a triple 12" vented car audio sub box. (keep in mind I am a gamer/music listener and go for raw impact rather than HT SQ). Now the dilemma on how to wire it. I have not purchased any subs yet as I have yet to decide on what I want the final impedance to be. - I can wire for 6-Ohms final with 4-ohm DVC subs but I can get some nice single coil 4-ohm subs for a little cheaper but I can not run them safely in paralell but I can do series wiring for a total of 12-ohms. I have plenty of power at hand so the question I am getting to is can I run my amp bridged at 12-ohms without sacrificing anything other than power loss? I can imagine it would run cooler (not a bad thing) but I do not want to lose any definition/depth/clarity/harm my amp or ??? I am trying to save a few pennies and get away with single coil subs BUT NOT at the expense of harming my amp. Also an estimate on RMS with this amp at 12-ohms if I can do it? Thanks!!!

Higher impedance of 12 ohms won't hurt anything and it should be less stress on the amp. The caveat is the power output will be something lower than what the amp is rated for at 8 ohms.

I am going to give it a shot and hopefully should be in the 600 to 700 watt range still. Old beat up amp will have an easy life from here on out lol. Thank you!

Re: Amp Wiring Impedance Help - Behringer EP2500

I'll post up some results / pics in the next week or so when subs show up in the vented diy section. Decided to experiment with some super lol LOW L.O.W. budget Legacy LWF12X 12" drivers wired series to 12-ohms. Drivers are a whopping $22.99 a piece but hopefully having 3 of them will make up for the low quality (maybe hahaha). These will be temporary until I get something nicer. More or less curious to see what they can do for <$70 spent even if it is in vain.
