  1. Powering sealed JL 13w7 EP2500 or XLS 2502

Subwoofer Amps | High Pass Filters
Research the built in HPF for either, for large sealed subs and 20 Hz you don't want a 20 Hz HPF for example, which lots of PA amps have.
  2. Speaker recommendations for Atmos upgrade

    Home Theater System Recommendations
I wouldn't suggest the up-firing style anyway, they are gimmicky and overpriced. You can use any small or in-wall speaker for atmos channels.
  3. Audio Bitrate

    Audio Processing
I believe content in PCM on these are called DVD-A discs for DVD-audio, and they are extremely rare :frown: I have a couple 96/24 and DTS-ES DVD music albums, but yeah, they are a novelty at best. There is not a lot of content out there mastered or released or recorded at the higher resolution.

  5. Behringer iNUKE1000DSP Interconnect cable

Subwoofer Amps | High Pass Filters
No problem. Clipping the amp might mean the gain is too high, not too low.
  6. Behringer iNUKE1000DSP Interconnect cable

Subwoofer Amps | High Pass Filters
What's the actual problem with the gain you are having? I go straight from my Denon X3300W with my inuke with a mono 1/4" to rca adapter and it works great.
  7. Dayton HO 12 vs Ultimax 10 for small sealed HT build?

    DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
The RS are great for SQ, but not SPL. If you want LFE rumbles in the very limited space of two 1cuft boxes, go for the ultimax.
  8. Need a replacement amp

Subwoofer Amps | High Pass Filters
The nu3000dsp has PEQ, crossover filters, etc. so it's doubtful you'd need the ultragain. It also has a decent amount of power, can't say for sure how much you need without knowing your sub build.
  9. Sealed sub modeling help

    DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
    Sounds like you're all set
  10. Sealed sub modeling help

    DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
Yep, all in all I don't think you can go wrong. If the subs are for a very open room/environment, you'll want to consider adding EQ later if you find yourself missing some of the LF. Linkwitz Transform (LT or low shelf) filter is popular for home theater applications of sealed subs.
  11. Sealed sub modeling help

    DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
The larger box would slightly boost the low range, but would reduce power handling since the larger volume would appear more open to the driver.
  12. Sealed sub modeling help

    DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
I'm sorry to hear that! I'd go with your calculated size, then. Some EQ and amp power will adapt those to about any environment.
  13. MTM Design Using Old Vifa drivers

    DIY Speakers
You could wing it and build them into a new enclosure with the same baffle width. Depending on how it was designed that could work... Or arrange them in a 2.5-way if the tweeter was only next to one woofer in the original design, and put the farthest woofer in the original design on the bottom.
  14. Behringer Nu6000dsp a up grade from crown xls2502

Subwoofer Amps | High Pass Filters
The UM12 runs out of xmax with 600 W RMS in that configuration. I would not leave the peak limiter all the way up, turn it down! 2.0cuft is kinda small for that driver, you could add as much acoustastuf as you want to bring the Qts down.
  15. Behringer Nu6000dsp a up grade from crown xls2502

Subwoofer Amps | High Pass Filters
There are bench tests out there, have you tried searching around? IIRC, the inuke published RMS numbers are only valid for short time transients. I'm not sure how they compare to Crown's published numbers.
  16. Car Audio speakers

    DIY Speakers
It's a cool idea, I think the drivers may have a higher QTS assuming they were designed for IB/car environment. Some dipoles might be a cool project.
  17. My setup

Home Theater Room Photos (Finished Rooms Only)
Changed back to a 5.1.2 for Atmos. The panels seem to be working great, re-running XT32 and everything images great. I think the rears image better with the panels in 5.1 than they did without panels in 7.1. Fronts/stereo are as clear as ever. Panel locations considered reflections but also...
  18. Cone impedance questio

    DIY Speakers
The sound should be slightly different since the different impedance woofer will interact with the crossover circuit differently. To what extent is noticeable is up to you to determine! The impedance of the total speaker system will be lower also, yes, it will be a little more work for your...
  19. DSP for iNUKE 1000?

Home Theater Receivers | Processors | Amps
A big advantage with your sealed subs and the inuke DSP would be the ability to run a low shelf filter (LS12) to boost up below 30-40 Hz where the response of the sealed sub naturally drops off, basically the same as a Linkwitz Transform.
  20. Audio Bitrate

    Audio Processing
Exactly correct Compared to compressed audio formats true/raw CD quality is actually really really good
