  1. Recommendations for Cheap Projectors

    Home Theater System Recommendations
Not likely anyone here has used those projectors. You’ll probably have to pick one based on those reviews. Regards, Wayne
  2. Video feed - AV Pre-Pro or Projector?

Home Theater Receivers | Processors | Amps
I doubt with a unit like the A5200 you’ll see any degradation passing the signal through it. You can certainly run the source HDMI straight to the projector, but that‘s not very practical if you have multiple sources. Regards, Wayne
  3. Rew measurments not accurate?

    REW Forum
Did you really post this 13 days ago? For some reason the email notification didn't come through until today. Regards, Wayne
  4. Rew measurments not accurate?

    REW Forum
I’m guessing it sounds real “shrill” with no bottom end? Instead of flat response, most people favor a house curve that slopes downward from the lows to the highs. A room as small as yours is probably going to need a pretty severe slope. Look for the articles on house curves in my signature...
  5. Echo

Home Theater Receivers | Processors | Amps
You could be getting some delay from the Phillips. Might help to connect it to the receiver instead of the TV, but can’t say for sure. On the other hand, it might be just the reverse: Delay from the 5.1 speakers. You are hearing the hearing aids immediately, since they’re right there in your...
  6. 15" vented end tables!

    Ported Subwoofer Build Projects
    Wow! Nicely done! Regards, Wayne
  7. New Room need to measure and adjust room.

    REW Forum
Insert the mini in the signal chain between the receiver’s sub output and the subwoofer’s input, and you can use it to EQ the subwoofer. Regards, Wayne
  8. placement of HT components

    System Setup and Connection
I don’t see a problem, as long as you can access both the front and back of the rack. Just make sure it allows enough air circulation for the amplifier, especially above it. Regards, Wayne
  9. New Room need to measure and adjust room.

    REW Forum
It won’t work with your system. An outboard equalizer must be inserted in the signal chain between the pre-amp and amplifier. Your receiver would have to have pre-out and main-in jacks to accomplish that. Regards, Wayne
  10. Yamaha CX-A5200

Home Theater Receivers | Processors | Amps
I'll probably be going that route if my RX-V9 ever dies. Regards, Wayne
  11. New Room need to measure and adjust room.

    REW Forum
I’d measure mains, subs, and full system both before and after Audyssey. REW does not have a setting for the amp. However, you can always adjust the EQ in real time using the RTA feature. That’s the best approach for equalizers that REW does not directly support. Regards, Wayne
  12. New Room need to measure and adjust room.

    REW Forum
I would definitely turn off Audyssey for initial measurements. I don’t think we have anything here on DIY bass traps. There is a section dedicated to acoustical treatments, you might look there. Regards, Wayne A. Pflughaupt
  13. Can't get passed Initial Setup

    REW Forum
Of course it won’t help if the Soundblaster is the issue, but it’s always good for the mic preamp to get a good, strong input signal. Regards, Wayne
  14. Can't get passed Initial Setup

    REW Forum
Top of the channel strip, the black knob below the input jacks. It adjusts the level of the input device. If it’s too low, you have to turn the “downstream” level controls up high to compensate. If it’s too high you get clipping even with the downstream level controls set very low. What you...
  15. Pre/pro or receiver?

    Home Theater System Recommendations
Don’t have a recommendation, but I expect the requirements for Dirac and flexible muti-room are going to limit your options considerably. Regards, Wayne
  16. MobilePre USB Setup and Troubleshooting Thread

    SPL Meters | Mic's | Calibration | Sound Cards
You must have found this thread doing a search on the Mobile Pre. Interfaces are typically used to record musical instruments or vocals to a computer. REW is Room EQ Wizard, a free platform for taking measurements of speakers in the listening environment. It can use an interface and mic to...
  17. Single amp to power front 3 and an IB?

Home Theater Receivers | Processors | Amps
I don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t work. Regards, Wayne
  18. What solution do folks use for the dreaded BFD hum?

    Electronic Processing/Equalization Devices
It’s typically a problem with some people’s system, or their having a less-than-ideal electrical situation, not the unit itself. Regards, Wayne
  19. What solution do folks use for the dreaded BFD hum?

    Electronic Processing/Equalization Devices
60-cycle hum from a ground loop. Regards, Wayne
  20. miniDSP 2x4 balanced vs. HD?

    Electronic Processing/Equalization Devices
Are you saying that your receiver can’t deal with 7.5 ms + 13.5 ms delay? I’ve never heard that the 96 kHz sampling rate is a problem. I don’t see a reason to get the HD unless you need the added features. Regards, Wayne
