Hi everyone, greetings from South Africa I am using a Umik-1 connected to my HTPC running HDMI to the AVR I'm a bit technically challenged but really want to understand how to interpret the graphs and learn how to set up my system to the best of it's abilities Spent the past 2 weeks reading...

I have a Yamaha Aventage 3010. I have JBL L-300 front speakers which usually on their own have excellent voice/dialogue clarity and tonal balance (to me). I bought Klipsch Reference 62 surrounds and center 64 channel based upon being told that the klipsch center was an excellent dialogue unit...

Last night I did another Audyssey calibration. As a result all my 'dialogue levels', in every preset, were set to -1,5 dB. I have a Denon AVR X2000. I've never found any suggestion that this could be set (by Denon, I presume) as a result of Audyssey's calibration. Furthermore it's a hard thing...

I noticed that after getting into blu-rays, a lot of them have scenes where dialogue is almost inaudible and I'm scared to turn up the volume because the action sequences just explode with loudness out of nowhere. I live in an apartment so I always have my remote next to me to dial up during...

What is the source of the time differential between video dialogue (actor's lip movement) on the screen and the audio signal (spoken words) from the speaker system? Is this due to signal processing? I understand that hiding the center speaker behind an audio "transparent" screen aids...

During movie dialogue I am hearing an echo. I hear dialogue from the center and surrounds. The volume from the surrounds is much lower and slightly delayed. Hence the echo effect. Also the dialogue is not constant from the surround. Can someone tell me why this is happening?
