:sn: Hello all. Thought this forum would be good place to seek opinions from DIY experts...
Below is list of my Home Theater components. Am wondering which component I should upgrade next???
The obvious answer may be to upgrade to a 4K display, but does anyone here have a different opinion...
Below is a list of my equipment, please give me thoughts on what I should add or replace? Also, would anytime of Amp assist in great sound?

I’ve got my dedicated Home Theater completed. Got REW installed and working. Now I need to put it all together and see what I can get out of it. First some logistics.
The room is 16 by 26. Two rows of seats. The rear seats are on a riser made to be a bass trap. It is open at the bottom of the...
I was making some FR measurements with a loopback timing reference and heard something strange: a second test tone started as the full 15Hz to 25kHzsweep reached about 1-2kHz. This second sweep began at around 500Hz but was time-delayed relative to the first sweep. Both sweeps played from...
I'm interested in feedback as to how you think the in-room sound would be, with a miniDSP unit which has 2 different sets of PEQ settings. The mic inputting to REW was located where the listener's head would be.
Attachment #1 is with the miniDSP PEQ settings left by the guy who initially set...
Hi guys just wanted to post the results of my REW project. Before I started to design the filters I spent several days adjusting the position of my speakers to try and get the best possible response. I ended up moving my speakers a bit closer together and further forward than where they were...
Since 1969, on and mostly off, I've been exploring motional feedback for woofers (the final frontier). I'm now "sharpening" my tools to compare different means of applying feedback. So, I am trying to find the best two or three indices of performance, not necessarily quantitatively, but at least...
Hello there! I am brand new in this forum and I need some feedback on my DIY plans to upgrade my system. First some background.
Location: Build is for Cyprus, Europe. Current location UK
Space: >2,000 sq feet open plan space
Speakers: Wharfedale Diamonds 10.CM, 10.5, 10.1, 10.DFS, Subwoofer...
I followed through the detailed tutorial by AustinJerry that I found on avsforum to get my REW system up and running. I also watched through several hours of videos on youtube about REW, acoustics to try to understand what the graphs mean.
I am looking at a box of 2.5 cu ft sealed with a parametric eq added for the UM18-22.
fc=35hz, q=1, gain=4db
It will be run off of one channel of a 6000dsp.
I am getting an f3 of 30hz with excursion maxed out at 22mm.
Could someone look it over?
Trying to figure out how my room measures. So I did the following
Noise Floor - Position 1-3
Front Left only - Position 1-3
Front Right only - Position 1-3
Position 1 is MLP and 600mm right and left is P2 and P3 - based on facing the screen.
Using REW 5.13 and a UMIK calibrated MIC...
I am new to the DIY scene and have just built some speakers for the very first time. I have gone for open baffle due to the following reasons;
1. Little or no woodworking skills.
2. Minimal tools required.
3. I have a small garage with no work bench.
4. My wife likes speakers to be...
I posted another thread entitled " My Room is Eating Low End - From 45hz -150hz - Any ideas to help"
I believe I have figured out the problem after much reading and would like to hear opinions on the matter.
As I posted, my room (13.75' x 11.25' x 8') demonstrates a significant overall...
I have a better SPL arriving tomorrow, but this is my first picture of my in-room response.
Step response is not what I was anticipating. Can this be measured separately from a single speaker on tweeter axis?
So I am...
Steinberg UR44 - Nasty Feedback from my Speakers??
Anyone using a Steinberg UR44 with REW? I'm getting some super nasty feedback. I have a cross-spectrum emm-6 mic connected to input 2 on the front of the unit. Feedback amount varies based on the volume and the input level of the...
I just finished my sub-woofer system project for my HT (you can see the enclosure design and construction here: http://http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/ported-subwoofer-build-projects/70000-stereo-integrity-ht-18-alfa-74-project.html
Basically I have a vented enclosure...
Another rookie here looking for help with Room EQ Wizard.
I've been following GIK Acoustics tutorial on Room EQ Wizard but every time I try to calibrate the sound card and the mic I get this piercing feedback when the levels approach the suggested levels.
Audio Interface: Yamaha...
