Can anyone tell me what sort of curve I should use as a transition from a bass hard knee to the remainder of the spectrum on a full range target curve? My current hard knee is shown below.
Thanks for the help!
I've always aimed for flat response but after reading Wayne's fascinating article on house curves i'm wondering just how much it will add to my sound.
I am a 95% movie watcher so would it be beneficial or not much in it, or will it actually have a negative effect as I did find that initially I...
For those of you who have not read the article written by Wayne, it is here http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/rew-forum/6818-minimal-eq-target-levels-hard-knee-house-curve-long.html.
In the third line of Wayne’s thread he hit exactly the issue I was facing “The frustration? Well, things...
Hi I've been trying to set my sub up using the guide minimal eq and hard knee house curve.
Having read the guide over and over I have a dilemma.
The guide says to have a steep slope between x over point, in my case 80hz, to the shelving freq, in my case 30hz. The dilemma I have is depending on...
I am using a Velodyne sms-1 to equalize my subwoofer and I am trying to create a response curve that is close to a "hard knee house curve". Is it correct to shoot for the same perceived spl level at 30hz as at 80hz assuming my crossover is set to 80hz?
Any help would be greatly...
I have been reading up on how to apply a house curve to my subs to improve the sound after flattening the response with REW and the BFD. I thought I had the basics covered and was ready to give it a try. Once I tried it and became a bit confused as to weather I was doing it correctly. I am...
OK so I read the "Minimal EQ, Target Levels, and a Hard-Knee House Curve" a few times.
Reason is I want to rerun my eq since I added my acoustic panels. They have been in for a while now but I feel like playing again.
If my crossover is at 60hz on my receiver how should I go about setting up a...
Here are my intial measurements from my IXL18.4 build recently posted here
How's it look?
This second graph is with the Wayne's sample hard knee house curve applied.
I've read through the really informative long article on...
I wanted to share some recent success with REW and my BFD (1124P). I don't want to get into great detail, but I've been unhappy with my sub's sound and thank goodness I found this forum. I purchased my BFD a few weeks ago and I've been very happy with the way my sub's sound has improved...
My understanding of Logarithmic Interpolation is that you now only have to enter the start and end of your straight section of curve (say 30 6.0; and 0 80.0), and the interpolation will plot a straight line for you on the horizontal logarithmic scale.
Well, I can't get it to do that. I can...
