Hey Guys,
2nd DIY sub build, 1st was a DIY Rythmik 12'' in 2007
I have (2) brand new MFW15 drivers that I was saving for (2) LilMike f20's, but since my Theater room hasn't started, I figured I'd make use of these in my 1300ft^3 room, tucked inside a pair of Marty Micros- 3.75ft^3 net.....IOW...
I currently have two mfw-15 turbo'd subs in a small room (not sure on square footage of room, but not big), they are co-located at opposite ends of the room, I have them tuned in well and calibrated and they do sound very good. But here's the thing, I am trying to reach about 12hz usable output...
Hey all, there's a deal for two of these sub's in my area for 550 for a pair in piano black. My research indicates that 1. The manufacturer no longer exists and 2. The amps on these are big time prone to failure. I'm wondering if its worth the risk at that price? (15-17hz extension and...
Hi everyone. I'm looking for a subwoofer replacement for my recently purchased av123 mfw-15. The amp is bad but that has been addressed. I plan on using my crown xls 1000, bridged to 4 ohms. This leaves me with a problem. The stock subwoofer handles my young sd 500-6 just fine. The crown will...
My MFW15 amp out within a few months after the replacing the capacitors. Looking for alternatives to bring it back to life. There are talks of others testing pro amps with the stock driver but didn't find anyone saying they use an external/pro with good results. Any suggestions for a used/new...
PROJECT CHANGED - NOW SELLING THE DRIVERS ...SEE AD POSTED 5/11
I have two exetremely rare AV123 MFW-15 Drivers "As New" Condition...I have held on to these in hope of finding another MFW-15 enclosure to add to the existing Rosewood MFW-15 I already own...its has not happened.
The Boxes /...
Like the title says, I am looking for AV123 MFW-15 subwoofer enclosures with either blown amps, blown drivers, or both. Any color. Looking to pickup within 150 miles of 61611 (to save on shipping).
Thanks!
Hi!
My MFW driver AND amp went out...yes sad :-(
In any case, I can get a ED A3-300 for almost what will cost me to get a driver and better ampm for the MFW so I was wondering if I will be upgrading, staying at the same level or downgrading by doing this.
This is strictly for movies.
Thanks!
First thing's first. The subwoofers sound AMAZING...
Disclaimer: This was my first DIY audio venture.
And due to this - I've no doubt run into a few roadblocks... One of my drivers seem to be rattling even at moderate volumes. And I did notice quite a lot of air leaking out the side, making a...
Good monring folks... I am a speaker building noob. However I have acquired a 2 ~ MFW-15 drivers and I have a 500W AV123 plate amp. I thought about building a MFW-15 clone as I have read some very good threads and they are descriptive on the cut sheets etc. Although this is my first build and...
I will be using 4 MFW-15's powered by an ep2500 in a sealed IB configuration. Each sub will be in its own 3-3.5 cubic ft enclosure. The wood enclosure will be similar to an IB setup but will have sonotubes on the rears in the attic to reduce the weight of using wood. It actually won't be...
I have 4 of the MFW-15's and would like get as low and loud as I can. I have a Carvin HD1800 pro amp and a FBQ2496 what size box or boxes should I use. I am having a hard time using Winisd and factoring in the FBQ. I also plan on using a hard-knee house curve.
