Hi All, Been trying to use the search function, but I'm not sure what to search for. :( I'll be borrowing a minidisplay-hdmi adapter tomorrow to try and run multi-channel-over-HDMI sweeps to see pre- and post- Audyssey results in-room at the new house... My simple question is, does REW...

REW V5.17 beta 11 has added the capability to support multi-channel output using Java drivers. The Windows JRE doesn't offer multi-channel even when using an audio device capable of it, but OS X does (tested on 10.11.6) and Linux might also (not tested). There is more info in the updated help...

Dear Forum members, I am using REW 5.15 on a Mac and would like to measure the speakers latency of a 7.1 system. Currently I am pulling the cables one at a time to make measurements. The reason is that I get only a stereo (2 channels) at best. It takes a long time. Any better option? My...

I think I'm getting an old PC from work that is in a group of machines that is being obsoleted by IT. I plan to use it to make an HTPC based on Ubuntu/Kodi. I want REW on the box for convenient testing purposes. My plan was to go Windows and load up HCFR as well video monitor calibration but...

JohnM, once more, thanks a lot for an excellent piece of software. Are there any plans on adding multi-channel or multi-mic support? With ASIO, using a multi-channel output device is very simple. Changing which channel to use is simple. However, in setups with multiple speakers and multiple...

I am absolutely virgin to REW. I just purchased the Dayton UMM-6 mic and am slowly learning to use it. I need some basic help. If this question has already been asked and answered, moderators may delete this thread and direct me to the relevant thread or posts. I did some search but could not...

I'm trying to setup REW to output via my laptop's HDMI port, and allow me to choose which channel to send the tones to. I read a bit on how to do this, but am experiencing different results than what I have read. I installed ASIO4ALL 2.11, then connected an HDMI cable from my laptop to my...

This proposal is partly building on what I mentioned in http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/rew-forum/74166-feature-request-automation-rew.html and it would aid greatly in the multichannel usage of REW: 1) In the preference dialogue, it would have been great if it was possible to select one...

Anyone know of any software/disks which can test individual speakers? REW sends out only mono signal. It's a pain having to disconnnect/reconnect speaker wires in order to test them individually.
  11. Two Channel Audio
I'm looking at buying a used multi-channel preamp-processor to be used as a two channel stereo preamp. Thoughts?

Anyone else notice the new Separates components from yamaha, both the new MX-A5000 (pre-amplifer) and CX-A5000 (amplifier)? They look really nice and appear to have that signature Yamaha build quality. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/cx-mx-separates/

Okay, fellow 'Shacksters. Here's the situation: My parents went away on a week's vacation and...they left the keys to the brand new Porsche.... OH WAIT -- those are lyrics to Will Smith's "Parents Just Don't Understand"...sorry...my bad....:rolleyesno: Okay, seriously. As I come to the...

From what I have read accurate time alignment is not possible with a USB mic. Am i right in thinking that a USB mic amp is fine though? eg if the path is emm-6 mic -> behringer q502usb (or similar) with loopback on spare channel -> USB to computer In this setup, what connects to the processor...
  15. System Setup and Connection
Hi first time post and i was wondering if anybody can help me. I currently own an old av receiver, onkyo TX-sr 505e and was thinking of adding a new blu ray player. The machine i had in mind was the panasonic DMP-BDT500. The reason for this is i would rather upgrade my disc player than receiver...
  16. Home Theater System Recommendations
I have an opportunity to upgrade my AV receiver which is an older Marantz SR-5300 from around 2002. It has served me well for 10 years. But, I would like to have HDMI (for video) and Audyssey Multi EQ XT 32 so I can EQ my speakers and my sub. So I've been looking at an Onkyo receiver - NR 818...

I've been using REW v.5 for some time now, and admire the work done by JohnM to supply this powerful software. Great job. I've also spent quite a few hours in the HT the last couple of weeks to calibrate the system, as I found that YPAO does not provide the best possible calibration...

Hi I will have my new 8ch DAC this week. I will have to re-think all my connectivity for REW's sweep measurements. My actual setup works fine with a PCI M.Audio sound card, frow which I have a loopback for time reference from analog out/in (RCA). Now I wil have to use an USB cable from my PC...

http://www.essej.net/ac3jack/ Anyone know if using something like the above and the optical cable would work to allow REW to output to individual l/r/c/bl/br/sub speakers without having to use analog l/r and move cables around to do individual speaker readings?

I am hoping someone has had both the Wyred 4 sound MC 5 channel with the front 500 watt channel or the top of the line Nuforce multichannel amp and compared them. I was thinking about picking up one or the other to compare to my current amp which is a beast at about 140 lbs. I tend to move a lot...
