  1. System Setup and Connection
Is there a standard xover point for these speakers? The booklet that came with the speakers says 150hz minimum?
  2. DIY Audio
Came across a nice set of crossovers but can find no information on specs. Afraid I do not have oscilloscope or anything more advanced than True RMS Digital Multimeter. Any possible way to test or fools errand?
  3. Home Theater Design and Construction
I just found this article that explains what I have always believed was true... A music room and a HT both need first reflection treatments. It is a good read for anyone that wants to know more about room treatments. There are quite a few books out there too, if you would like to read up on the...
  4. REW Forum
I read a while back about using REW to find crossover points. Any input on how i could accomplish this. This will be for new FOH speakers I have built for my Pro Audio set up.

  6. Home Audio Acoustics
I plan to use OC 703 2". I have heard it is good to have it 3-4" from the wall. That's too far in my room. I could put about 1.5" between the panel and wall. Is that even worth it? Also, with these considerations, would it be a notable improvement to use OC 705? Also, I am going to treat...
  7. Home Audio Acoustics
I am trying to determine how wide my trim needs to be on the side walls - is there a standard / suggested thickness for 703 on side walls to treat reflection points? If so, does it adhere right to the wall or should a gap be left between the wall and the 703? Thanks! Joe
  8. Home Audio Acoustics
hey Guys, I’m just beginning my theater design. I plan to start a planning thread soon. :) I have a few tweaks to make to this design but I want to make sure I’m figuring out the first reflection points correctly. I did a mirror image of the speakers and drew lines to the seating...

Congratulations Dish Network on announcing yourself as "the first and only satellite TV provider in America to offer this channel." Though DirecTV still has NFL Sunday ticket, if your taste run more towards Don Draper than Adrian Peterson, you won't get Mad Men in HD there, yet. Check for the...
  11. REW Forum
When I'm targeting a room mode, I find it's easier to see what effect it had on the decay by plotting the spectral decay points for that frequency. Would this be a feature that could be added to REW?
  12. Home Audio Acoustics
It is relatively easy to either calculate or mirror-eyeball first reflection points. I can't seem to find much on how to determine secondary reflection points. Or if I should even try in a 11.5' x 15.75' room? Any resources out there on this? Thanks.
  13. DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
So, what is better for a subwoofer- 3 feet or 4 feet? It seems to me that 3 feet has a better chance of sitting flat on the floor ... am I missing something more important? I'm building two fairly heavy Rythmik 15's and I haven't really give the feet\spikes much thought until now. Thanks in...
  14. Home Audio Subwoofers
I currently use two sub woofers for watching surround movies. One is my old 10" sub that has an F3 about 35hz, the new one is a 15" quatro that reaches to about 23hz. I seem to get clearer sound and better feel by running the 10" crossed over from my mains at 60hz down to its F3 of 35hz, the...
