I need some help, thank you for your time in advance!
I read a lot of Ilkkas subwoofer measurement reports in this forum. I would like to build/ to get the best subwoofer possible, it is for music only and I d like to use it in my studio. A lot times he refers to TC sound LMS...
The Tannoy speakers were the only one of the speakers that I had not heard of before the evaluation. I was really looking forward to seeing the concentric tweeter design and giving these a listen.
As far as the finish on the Tannoys, they have a gloss black finish on them that is really well...

I need help...;-)
I am thinking of building a ported sub with a Precision Devices PD.2450.
The box will be of 25mm mdf. The front will be 50 mm with flushmounted driver.
The box can not be deeper than 60 cm, and the port must be on the front.
Regarding the tuning, I hope around 25 -...
Ive ordered a PD.2150 which is a 21'' subwoofer containing the following specifications,
Nominal Diameter 53 cm (21”)
Voice Coil Diameter 152 mm (6.08”)
Nominal impedance 4,8 or 16 Ohms
Power Rating 1000 Watts (AES)
Sensitivity (1w / 1m) 99 dB
Frequency Range 30 Hz - 1 kHz
After considering what to do for a long time I finally started working on this project. And I must say that, although I am listening to this speakers for a few days now, I am still very impressed by the accuracy of the sound they produce. They also play very loud without distortion:
I recently upgraded to a 2.35:1 screen and I now have this Carada doing nothing. I took it down 2 weeks ago and put it in the new screens box, anyone interested? $200 pickup only, SW Florida. Thats 1/3 of what I paid, PM for details.
I'm going a different direction in my planned subs, and have my new PSP ports to sell. They are light, but bulky, so I'd prefer a Dallas or Houston buyer. If in Houston, or somewhere on I45 in between, I can deliver. So, initially, I'm not offering shipping, but will later if they don't sell...
Does anyone know the cutout diameter of the 4" Precision Ports. I have some on order and I'm trying to get ahead in the build. Also what is the OD of the tube? THanks so much. Sorry for the dumb question.
A friend and I are building a new set of speakers from scratch. It's a ported MTM design. To maximize the performance we decided to go with the flared Precision Ports.
Here's where the quandry pops up -- when I calculated the port length, it came up with 4.45".
The instructions for the port...
How do you calculate a full length dual-flared precision port in Boxnotes? Do you simply select the option for "dual flare" and then punch in 17" for the length?
Also, what would I punch in for a 15" Tempest-X for volume?
And lastly, what is a good way to calculate interior bracing...
Has anyone used one of these things?
I have installed a 2" precision port before. Very simple, the outer flare has both a flange for bolting/gluing and a nice collar to ease installation. In my case I cut just about a perfect circle matching the collar diameter and the collar provides a large...
