    DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
Well, my sonotube project fell flat, due to the lack of.... sonotube! Can't find that around here, very peculiar! So, turned to wood, got some cheap parts for my first try, calculated with the tools available around this forum and came up with this. It is already better than my little Yamaha...

    DIY Screens
Hey everyone, I'm somewhat new here. More of a lurker than a poster. I didn't find this place until after I got comfortable with avsforum. Anyways, I am moving to a new apartment and I don't really want to make it extremely dark like my old place. So I will definitely have some ambient...

  8. Proof We're not Nuts!

    DIY Screens
That's a quote from Projector Central and the opening for their review of the new Da-Lite Joe Kane screen that's coming out. Probably its main characteristic that is being emphasized is that the screen itself is D65 neutral! I've been saying this for a long time now. Those that have seen the...

  10. Full range vs crossover proof thanks to REW

    REW Forum
I have been playing with REW for a while, and have been less than impressed with my graphs as a result of the auto EQ feature on my AVR635. I did a firmware upgrade today through the RS232 port and now I have a sweet balanced machine as the following graphs should show. Apart from that obvious...

Hello. I have spent a lot of time looking for the "how to" of running wires in my existing home, and thanks in large part to Wayne A. Pflughaupt I at least have some ideas as to how to approach the job. I have searched for the answer to my questions, and if I have overlooked a thread, please...
  13. An idiot proof primer

    Home Audio Acoustics
I've just read about this site in Sound On Sound magazine, what a find! This is a really basic first question (I hope!). I'm reading through, looking at various graphs, figuring I'm going to need to buy an SPL meter and so on. But ideally, I'd first like to read up on exactly what I'm doing...
