I have old Sansui speakers, they still sound excellent after 30+ years, but the wife does not want to see any wires anymore so I will go with in-wall speakers.
I know, a lot of you will tell me that it will not sound the same; but I'm over 60 :olddude:now and not sure I would hear a big...

Hey , I am looking into replacing my Samsung pn58c680 plasma 3D Tv . I want something bigger with better performance. I am about 11 feet from the Tv mounted on the wall . I want to be total immersed in the movie , game or show .
I am trying to decide what to do. Either keep my current projector or get a new one. My current projector is a Sony VPL HW55ES and the one I am thinking about is the new Epson 5040UB or the JVC DLA-X750R (little more than I want to spend) . Any advise or comparisons would be great. Thanks!
I have a 8ohm 350 RMS cabinet speaker. Can I replace the woofer to a more powerfull one? For example, if I get a 650 RMS woofer or something above that, will it still sound the same or with more power since I will be placing it in the same enclosure?
I have the Dayton UM18 in my DIY build and while it sounds pretty good, I want a little more ooomph along with great SQ. I have 2 other great subs in the front and this is my tactile speaker in the rear. I do not have enough room to add another, so I want one sub that is clean and has good SPL...
I picked up a used dcm sub 712 off of criaglist (I know, I know...I deserve that one) that sounds good at lower, but turning it up a bit, it sounds like there's a rattle going on when the bass gets good.
Should I find a replacement driver or replace the whole unit? I don't have much to spend...

Keep me from leaping off the Ben Franklin bridge?
It all started when I had this hair-brained idea of dragging the basement subwoofer upstairs and adding it to the one sub I already had in my living room HT. Hey, if one sounds this good, two must sound WAY better, right?
Well, as I've learned, that depends. If you did some digging you'd see I...
I'm looking at replacing quite a bit of my system, as I have some budget to play with this year.
Generic Sony DVD/Bluray player (I also have available a newer Sony BDPS3200)

Generic Pioneer powered sub (100w, Best Buy purchase)*
I'm looking to purchase a new receiver for my parents and their living room TV setup. They currently have a Sony Integrated Home Theater System (HCD-DX375). I want to continue to use the speakers included with this system, but I am looking to replace the DVD/STR System with a 5.1...
Hi everyone, so I've got a light controlled environment in a small basement and I use my PLV-Z60 which is 720p to throw onto a DIY screen which is basically just paint (the old Behr Silverscreen that people were doing). Its 83" diagonal. Recently the image brightness has been going down which I...
Here is my current set-up in my Home Theatre:

I want to buy a 65 or 70-inch display for a large room. I really would like to get a 4k display, though I’m just not sure it is worth it to invest in this technology right now for the price. I feel like it might be something worth having in the next 2-3 years as content becomes available and...
Around January of this year, my Onkyo 609 receiver's hdmi inputs stopped working properly. The inputs will no longer pass any signal. I have already had this receiver repaired once for the very same thing while it was still under its warranty so now my only option left is to pay much more to fix...
I have a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Canceling over the ear headphones that have literally been around the world and back. The plastic has cracked on one side (held together by electrical tape) and is starting to cut out. In short, it's time to replace them.
It has been almost a decade...
After about five year's use, my projector went south. I'm not completely certain whether or not the timing is coincidental, but I had just added a PC to the setup. The PC applied yet another update, and during the reboot, when the video mode changed, I was treated to this image (well, this is...
I've been running my BFD disabled every since getting my new Onkyo Receiver NR3009.
I figured since it runs Audyssey at multiple locations, it would do a better job of handling
peaks than REW/BFD as it only does it at one location.
So my questions is: Is there still room for the BFD and REW...
