Ok, bare with me. In live audio when I tune a PA I first tune each speaker in as dead of a room as I can (typically do this only once unless the PA changes), then I'll lay a graphic over all speakers to tune to the room. I have downloaded REW and all makes since as I use Smaart quite a bit. With...

While this thread does not fit completely in this topic area, I was hoping that others would share their stories of ridiculous claims made by sales people.. During one visit to a national retailer, the sales rep made two amazing claims within moments of each other: 1) A plasma set needs better...

:DI'm taking measurements in order to EQ my subs ; So the range of what I'm measuring ( area of interest ) is limited to 20hz to 100hz and because of the ears response and the loudness curves , I can't really even hear much ( as opposed to when the sweep gets higher up and nada when I have the...

Since i was running 3000w rms to the subs I fig id go the cheap route and get a pa style amp. I got a yorkville ap3000 amp from good ol' craigslist and hooked it...
  7. DIY Subwoofers - General Discussion
That comes with a MAL? I am shooting for a 21.5 inch cube. If I don't use the gasket (parts express foam tape on the cabinet instead) I can cut the hole a 1/2 inch smaller. It might make a diffference, because I want to use a 3/4 radius roundover on the four vertical lines of the cabinet. So...

I have a pair of stereo RCA interconnects that I am using temporarily to run longer extensions to some subwoofers. The subwoofers seem to sound fine and do a decent job of filling the sound for the rear row however, if I touch the end of each stereo RCA cable that is not plugged in, there is a...

I finally got around to borrowing my buddy's RS meter to cal the REW SPL meter... when doing so, should the RS meter be set to C weighting? Does the C weighting check box in the mic/meter tab have any effect on this section of the calibration procedure?
  10. Home Theater Projectors
Is it possible to even find a projector now a days with a coax input? Got a project coming up, and the customer has alreay ran coax from his satellite box, I'd prefer he used anything else but coax, but I haven't been able to convince him of that yet. Thanks
