I use REW both on my desktop, where I conduct most of my analysis, and my laptop, where I do all the measuring. To facilitate synchronizing files between the two systems, I want to store the REW MDAT files on my network attached storage (SAN). This should be a reasonable request. However, REW...

Hi there again, my beta version of REW runs very slow under mavericks. It is actually impossible to work with it because the software reacts with big delay on every click or mouse movement. On 10.8. it runs very smooth. Is there any workaround beside of a system downgrade? cheers

I'm trying out REW, and am interested in hearing if you guys have insight into what I'm seeing with my waterfall graph. I've used other RTA software, but this is my first attempt with REW so apologies up front if I'm making silly mistakes. Here is the waterfall for my right channel: I've...

By "slow" I mean - is the group delay on JL subs excessive? I used REW to measure the delay on my F110's as compared to my main speakers. For this measurement, the subs and the main speakers were in the same plane. I found that the GD was 50ms. Turning the ARO ("Automatic Room Optimization")...

To start I just want to get a few simple questions out of the way. When I upload movies to my future HTPC do I need a special device for streaming audio/video to my AVR? Meaning do I need a DTS-ES decoder or any other decoder for my computer if my AVR has the capability? And is what graphics...
  8. SPL Meters | Mic's | Calibration | Sound Cards
Hi. I have a Rion NL-32 SLM that I use to do environmental noise assessments. While miles from audio, I actually also use it as a Mic and preamp and feed it into my PC. So for speaker measurement I have a flat and calibrated microphone. However, there is a number of settings on the instrument...

I just had an issue with my PC booting very slowly and thought I would share the answer, or at least the answer in my case. I'm using a rather old motherboard by current standards (a Gigabyte P35-DS3L), but it's all I need for now. I had some problems not long ago that gave me a fright...

As a Birmingham-raised expatriate 65 years old, I'm looking forward to getting back home and leaving SC. Ultimate irony that another "good ole boy" from Alabama is involved with this! Sweet Home Alabama!!!!

I recently tried FF 3.5 but didn't like it, since it wouldn't load most of my add-ons, so I reverted back to the previous version.. I've always found the FF browser annoyingly slow to load and the 3.5 version doesn't seem to be any better I had almost reconciled myself to the fact that this...

Hi I once registered here for the Room EQ Wizard, but have never actually owned a full fledged home cinema. I have therefore posted nothing until now. Things have been in the planning phase for more than 4 years ( :unbelievable: ), which pretty much makes me one of the worlds slowest DIY HT...
