Hey guys :)
Just curious if any experts here have any recommendations for an alternate driver for the MFW-15!
It's been found by many, that the stock driver for this fine sub will bottom out way too easily, thus needing to keep the gain lower than desired and thus having not the desired...
For my down stairs area I'm contemplating building a sub myself, scary thought I know.
I'm wanting to create a sub that I can place a TV on top of so minimising vibrations is a consideration. Something like the Seaton Submersive with its opposed 15" drivers would do the trick. But... to...
Will the EZ slotted port design build work for the Gen I tempest-x? If not, will something similar work, b/c I really like the ease and dimensions of that build. It will be powered by an EP1500. Thanks for any input!
Hi I have a first gen Tempest-X sub for sale in excellent condition. Again the older version has more xmax and a lower fs. Here are the specs:
Fs: 18.5 Hz
Re: 3.65 Ohms (Voice Coils wired in parallel)
Cms: 0.37 mm/N
Sd: 791 cm^2
SOLD SOLD SOLD - both have been sold
Awhile back, I bought four Exodus Audio Tempest-X gen1 subwoofers. I'd planned on all four in 12 cu.ft each vented enclosures tuned to 16hz. But after I built two, I realized that was actually more than enough!
So I have two that are barely used (tested...
I've got a pair of Tempest-X that are unused, because the other pair have excelled so well in their 24 cu.ft. enclosure tuned to 16hz that I just haven't needed all four.
So I'm thinking about turning the unused pair into midbass modules. I have the ported pair low passed at 40hz. So these...
I have a Tempest-X driver that I was going to put in a 150 L sealed box. However, despite sealed having less group delay, etc. leading to "best" sound quality, a ported/passive radiator would result in vastly reduced excursion, with a corresponding result in vastly reduced distortion...
EDIT: THESE ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE - I DECIDED TO KEEP THEM
I have four Exodus Audio Tempest-X 15" subwoofers for sale. Probably one of the best 15's ever created.
Two are new in the box (never used) for $188 each.
Two are lightly used in excellent, new looking condition for $160 each...
The Tempest-X has been missing from the web site for a long time (likely due to it's current lack of availability). However, I would really like to simulate one. If anybody has the T/S params for this woofer, I would appreciate if they would post them.
Thanks in advance.
I am still learning WinISD. I recently discovered the Excursion tab and I'm trying to model a Tempest-X "LLT" enclosure using it. But whenever I go larger & lower than DIYcable's recommended 12 cu.ft. 16hz enclosure, I start to exceed Xmax.
My goal is an enclosure that has low decay...
Hi, I've two Tempest-X, DCX2496 and an EP2500 at my disposal. I have no idea if I'm going sealed or ported. Many people say "just build two sealed boxes, 8^3 each". I don't know. First, they'll be huge. Second, if I go ported, I'll get more output. I can add a subsonic (highpass) filter with the...
