Thank you for contributing to the forum. I've found very useful information here!
After some time reading the threads and learning, I decided to share my experiences. Any comments are very appreciated.
I use a projector for watching the TV and movies at home, in a non-dedicate room...
Need to check a measurement mic frequency response and of course a speaker will color the graph.
I have heard an Air Compressor can be used to generate full audio spectrum Pink Noise. True? Other sources of Pink Noise?
Or.. I there a good DIY way of getting an accurate frequency response graph...
I wish to use REW for testing passive crossovers.
I have attached the file herewith of the setup.
How to calibrate now REW with this setup?
Any suggestion/guidance regarding setup & calibration is required.
Please excuse my naivety/stupidity, but I am trying to find out what combination of REW and hardware I need to send individual 7.1 pink noise/sweeps etc. via HDMI, channel by channel, to a AV processor for general speaker analyzing and also for before/after analyzing of EQ processes such as ARC...
I've used REQ many times for home theater, stereo, even pro audio work. This time, what I'd like to do is test the frequency response of a piece of hardware directly. Specifically, a musical instrument tube pre-amp. I'm guessing this is pretty easy, and I can just insert it in the chain where...
I have a USB DAC with an ASIO driver that I would like to measure through REW. I also have either a Prism Lyra-2 interface or a Motu interface available for the analog input measurement. The problem of course is that there is no input side to the ASIO for the DAC so logsweep would not work.
I understand that I need to take measurements of each channel of my stereo system separately. I also have a decent idea of how to apply EQ to each channel using a house curve. I assume that once I create the EQ filters for each channel I will want to measure the combined effect with both...
hey guys i need help

I salvaged some driver from some subwoofer enclosures and would like to test their frequency response.
As you can see from the pics, there are no markings such as manufacturer or wattage, etc on the speakers.
Now that they are out of the enclosure, how do...
I salvaged 4 subwoofers from a restaurant installation we recently did.
I'm busy removing the drivers from the enclosures at the moment and intent to build new enclosures.
The drivers have no markings on them such as manufacturer or wattage, etc, so I...
I was inspired by Todd Anderson's test of the IsoAcoustics Aperta to do my own in-depth analysis of isolation including testing several devices. Enjoy:

I've done all the normal searches, but could anything relating to this query.
I have used REW (several years ago) to set up and fine tune my Home Theatre with great success.
I am currently building a pair of folded horn subs for my daughter's band.
Once completed, I want to test them.
I have a...
After some discussion about EQ solutions for various applications in another thread, I found myself in a unique position to get some impressions of the FBQ-1000.
It was alleged that the old model, the Feedback Destroyer DSP1124P, was noisy and therefore unsuitable for use in equalizing L/R or...
Okay so I’m trying to figure out how loud my system can go at my normal levels. I’m somewhat doing this to see if the subs I what to get can handle my listening habits.
The level on my AVR that I listen to the most is -20db. -30db or -25db for “regular music” and -20db or -15db for Classical...
Anyone have experience with the tone burst testing in REW? I'm interested to learn all I can about its usefulness, in both electrical and acoustical testing. If anyone has used tone burst testing please tell me a little bit about what it is and what it's used for. Thanks again to all who share...
Speakers have been assembled in a 3 way, vertical inline configuration and crossover points are being evaluated. For drivers there's 12", 4" and 1" speakers with XOs at 230 and 2300 Hz.
Input mic for REW is a UMM-6 and the generic calibration file has been downloaded and used.
First test is...
I just finished testing (WT3) 4 of the out of spec LD25Xs that were sold on Ebay a while back. The Fs (720-834) and Re (6.8-7.1) seem to be fairly close to the OEM specs but the Le is about 10x higher at .10. Hopefully someone can look at the data and help me understand what I should expect from...
