Where do you remember that you need to have the GAIN set to max?

The LEVEL on BAND 1 controls the parametric eq filter for BAND 1... it has nothing to do with the overall GAIN. You only use that LEVEL control if you want to create a filter for BAND 1.

You do not input to BAND 1 or BAND 2, you input to both and both BAND 1 and BAND 2 will effect you input... unless you leave the LEVEL set to 0.

If you are just using the unit for a HPF, leave both BAND 1 and BAND 2 LEVEL settings at 0.

The gain on the eQ.2 is actually an attenuation dial. The maximum voltage of 2.5V is only reached when the knob is turned to MAX, according to eD. I suppose it would depend on your amp as to whether you need the full 2.5V or not. For example, the Behringer EP2500 specs an Input Sensitivity of 1.23V, so the eQ.2 may not need to be set at MAX for use with it. However, I am not the master of input/output voltage matching between processors and amps, so I yield to the more knowledgeable on this matter.
