What would you do between 4 18" IXLs or 2 FTW 21" drivers. Looking to go sealed from ported. Yes I know, I didn't think I would end up thinking about it. I am waiting for a price back from Mark at IST about shipping to the UK but it would be good to get some opinions. 4 IXL's would be cheaper and yes there's no replacement for displacement.

I would definitely go with four 18's. For me the options would be :
2 x 21
4 x 18IXL
4 x 18UXL
IXL's I thought liked bigger boxes but you dont have a problem with that. Are you going to use a clone amp?

I will be buying a pair of the UXL's probably around fall time to go in a pair of horned subs for my outdoor HT. I think Mark has some awesome products and will continue getting my subs from him.

Two 21's would need a 9 cu ft each sealed and 4 18's would only need 7 cu ft for each dual. I was originally looking at 8 JBL GTO-1514 15" drivers and I can get 8 off those for £600 delivered and would mach the spl off both the Mach audio's and would only require 2400 watts input power. They would however require a 15 cu ft for each dual. I am thinking off different options as I would like to go sealed but match the spl of my ported Q's.

I fancy a change but budget does come into play too.

Amp wise I would probably buy another EP4000 or an inuke 6000. The other thing I need to think about is the limit of power I can draw of my 240v circuit.

The problem is running 2 ohm stereo. The ep4000 doesnt like low frequencies loud with the fan I have installed. I do miss playing my low hz stuff for a laugh knowing that 2 songs is the limit with that amp and fan befire it cuts out. I cant go back to the stock fan as the amp is 8 feeet in front of me. Dont get me wrong I love my subs but its like having a new car and ince yiu know where all the buttons are you want a new one. Lol.
I like overkill but just love the thought of looking at two 21" drivers with 34mm of excursion.

Sounds like a plan. I am getting the 21's because I just could not afford 8 of the 15's I wanted. lol

You could always buy another amp to hold you off. Then buy 21's for headphones.lol.

And please if you can make some videos. I know when I can I will be "continuing the trend."

Those four IXL's seem to be the best bet for size and volume. Think it will come down to just preference.

I like 2 21s looking at you too like in a 9^ft3 sealed box 24x48x18 made from (1) SHEET OF 3X4" PLY WITH BRACES AND MORE BRACES and the two 21s mounted one above the other vertically facing the listening area.

You don't need 9 Cubic feet for the 21's, 5-7cf will work great and 9cf is not needed at all. The gain over 6 cf is not worth th extra size if you can eq.

If it was up to me since I have 4 ixls right now and will be the first to get the FTW's, I go with the 21's hands down.

Ya but I'm sure you are going to EQ (I'm N8DOGG on avs) and the extra size doesn't gain you a whole lot. If you have no plans to eq then 9cf is good to go. I'm modeled every size from 5 to 10 and the sweet spot IMO is 7 but if you have the room and don't care, 9 would be fine. If you went with 6, you could eventually get 4 and stack them and the 2 subs wouldn't be much bigger that. What are you going to be running for amps?
