So I finally will have some time to build my Sonosubs about 6 months after the tubes and drivers have been sitting in my music room.

I'm trying to get the details together before I start. I have the Sonosub program and WIn ISD Pro. I'll be using a 24" Sonotube about 6' long tuned to around 15 hz for each of the two subs. These will be used on my virtual pipe organ for the pedal stops. Lowest frequency about 16 hz.

What I'm not finding good detail on, is how long to make the spacers for the bottom and top using a bottom floor plate and top cover plate over the 8" port. The sonosub figures don't seem proper.

Thanks,
Eric

Thanks Mike. Yeah I had read somewhere 5" for the bottom, but I thought the top could be considerably less due to just an 8" opening (port). I'm guessing it may have more to do with proximity effect as with organ pipes (causing detuning), rather than just enough space to equal the area of the opening.
