For a sub with a limited Xmax of 8 mm it would take a fair sized box to get any low end. Shown is each in 12 cu.ft or 8 cu.ft. 45 watts would reach Xmax. A 150 watt plate amp with a high pass filter at 18 hz would power them both if wired for a 4 ohm load.
The orange line looks nice but the spl is low and the other problem was when I modeled them they exceeded xmas at 30hhz with only 100 watts which to me does not seem like a good candidate for an HT sub. It is really amazing how far driver technology has come in the past 10years!!!!! :hide:
yeah I would have entertained it if the box wasn't so big. That's pretty large without much performance so I think I'd be way better off investing in a good sub to place in that box. Posted via Mobile Device
Ya, they would be better than nothing and probably better than a cheap B&M subwoofer.
Another option would be to horn load them then the Xmax would not present near as much of a problem but horns are a special breed.
I can tell you the Quality and Quantity of bass from my Mal-X is worth every penny I spent!!!!!!
