Your eagerness to get it up an running shows lol, theres even still some remnants of dust in there :D. Its starting to look like a proper sub now though, and it suits your setup. I think it will look very well once you get it finished, and we get the grill(s) sorted.

Looks pretty good to me, but then I would say that, wouldnt I :D

Ha ha, yeah, eagerness indeed mate. Maybe a damp cloth over the drivers wouldn't go amiss!! Still, it sounds awesome. I've never heard anything like it in my room. I've thrown a lot of the bass heavy movies at it, and it's not even flinched....never sounded as though it's struggled at any point. The way it delivers that deep, clean powerful bass....the sort of bass that makes you jump. Equally impressive is how quickly the bass disappears. I want to get a response graph sorted out next. See if i can get REW up and running, then we can really see what's going on.

Well just an update on this sub. I honestly can't believe the bass that these Acoustic Elegance drivers are capable of. My previous best bass i've had in this room was an SVS SB12+, which, let's get it right, are fantastic little subs for the money. This new beast though is on a whole different level altogether. Savage bass on movies, subtle bass on music. Absolutely love it. I still need to finish the sub with a few more licks of paint etc, but I think that may be a while yet, as every day, i'm throwing a bass heavy movie at it! There's nothing i've found yet that makes it struggle. Audyssey Multi EQ set the sub at -6dB and i've boosted it to a pretty steady -4dB, and that really is plenty. Just waiting on my external sound card to be delivered now, then i can get a REW graph posted for your guys analysis. :T

Yeah man, for sure. I'm really enjoying it. Had The Dark Knight on earlier. I think what amazes me the most is how precise the bass is. It hits you, then it's gone. And i must say, the drivers don't really move much, even at high levels they remain remarkably 'calm'. Ironman (cave emergence scene) just sounded ridiculously good. The Mrs came down from upstairs thinking there was an earthquake!! ha ha

Whilst waiting for my external soundcard in order to run REW, i decided to manually do a graph. Here's what came out (sub calibrated to 75dB using amp's test tones)

Looking like you have good output to 11 hz then, which is nice  It does look as though you need the bottom end eq'ing up a little, or rather the upper end cutting to get a flatter response. Its no wander this thing is slamming you in the chest :D

11hz will probably do me mate, if it's gonna mean forking out for a BFD. Not too bad overall though eh?, esp as i'd set the sub channel to 75dB beforehand.

Right, a bit more of a concerted effort with audyssey today, and this is what it produced....

She's a lively one isn't she?!!!....this is with no artificial boosting. Audyssey finished running and i went straight into the graph after the 75dB amp's test tones.

Looks good I have a pair of av 12's in 2 separate sealed boxes that sit one on top of the other and keep thinking about building a push pull what are the meauments you ended up with. Do I need 50 litres between the to drivers or 100 lifers ??

Mine I believe, is 55 litres, and that's total. It measures 380w550dX450h.(mm).
I've not heard two single sealed's, but my push pull sounds superb to my ears.

Too right mate, to be fair, cracking performance from a sub, small or otherwise!
