Hi,

I want to build a small subwoofer for my lounge room system. It will really only be used for music and general TV watching, and occasional movie.

I'm located in Australia, and currenlty the best driver I know available to me is the peerless xxls10.

I want to usa a small sealed enclosure, run with a redgum 300w plate amp. Currently this amp is running a tempest 15" vented with no problems.

My question is this. Which driver will suit my needs the best?

There are a number of xxls10 dirvers to choose from. The main two PDFs below

http://www.tymphany.com/files/products/pdf/830876.pdf

http://www.tymphany.com/files/products/pdf/830843.pdf

One of the main differences is the impedance. One is 4 the other 8. Even though the 8 ohm version is recomended for sealed I am worried I won't get the performance.

Although outright SPL is not the objective here, it will be in a large room 25ftx15ft with a high sloping ceiling, so it still needs to perform well.

Anyone care to comment?

Cheers
Jamie

OK thanks for that. For some reason the site I looked at in Australia didn't have the alu cone version listed. But from the specs the 830951 looks best, with a smoother frequency response.
