I am hoping someone here can help me.
I have heard and read that somewhere there have been home amplifiers tested and databased.
does anyone know what I'm talking about and more specifically where to find it?

That much is clear, but my buck with that purchase wouldn't let me buy a driver.
Next build that will be the amp, but for now I need to get up and running with something decent for a low price.
Currently down to three drivers(Shiva-X, Dayton Reference HF15, Torrent Audio XO-12) and the BASH300 or Dayton SA240.
With mdf and just a few extras I need I will stay between $290-$365 - final cost.

EAGLES,
You are missing your biggest displacement driver option in that price range. Mach5 Audio MJ18-M. 18" sub with a 3" coil and 15mm xmax for $155 shipped. It be a good match for an Oaudio 300w BASH amp $159, or if you can scratch up a few more dollars the 500w Oaudio (which Chuck tested) is $224.

How much different is the Oaudio BASH 500 compared to the PE BASH 500?(which is just $185 currently)

I must have bad T/S params as the MJ-18 fell short of a few other designs?

Also, in trying to keep the budget super low I will be most likely choosing between the Bash 300 and the Dayton SA240.
Which would you choose?

Thank you Mike P.!
I also am very interested in the XO-12 from Torrent Audio.

Problem is the MJ-18M, Oaudio BASH500, and mdf, etc. would be more than $450.
Whereas the Bash 300 or SA 240 would save me over $100. For a first build meant to be super low budget I'm not sure if the 2.5dB or so I'd gain from the extra wattage would be worth it.
If the 500 = ~433w and the 300= ~340w there is even less difference.(those are numbers I've come across on the net, not sure if valid)
But then if I'm considering the BASH300, why not the SA240 with it's added features since I'd only lose another 1db or so?

As you can see I'm confused, what's your thoughts?

The MJ18M will make the most out of your available watts, since it should be more efficient than the smaller 12's and 15's. Why not try the 300w Oaudio Bash it's only $159. That's $314 for the MJ18 and the amp.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I have read that the 300w from PE and Oaudio are the same and only the Bash 500 is altered by Oaudio?
If that's true, PE has it for $35 less and the SA240 for another $15 off but with itsa' EQ.
Other drivers I am considering seriously besides the MJ-18M:
Torrent Audio XO-12
Dayton HF15
Dayton HF12

Today I will have time to model the MJ-18M.
