Right now, you can get an Anthem MRX 710 for $1,300 on Amazon from AUDIOLAB, an authorized Anthem dealer. This is an absolute steal for anyone looking for a new 7.1 receiver. No Atmos, but ARC implementation is excellent.
I just installed mine. Replaced my Onkyo TX-NR1010. Very simple, which is a good thing. Good, clean power. Very quiet, not a hint of hiss with my Klipsch Reference setup.
I ran ARC once using 5 mic locations. Very good results. I didn't have time yet to verify with REW, but to my ears it sounds very good and did a reasonable job filling a 40-50Hz hole I have in my room. I do miss the Dynamic Eq a little, but like the adjustability of ARC much more.
I also like the fact that I can completely customize each input - name, listening mode, input, etc. And it uses my input names on the units display, on-screen menus, and the control app.
Plus, 3 year manufacturer warranty.
I wish that I didn't have to replace my Onkyo, but the Anthem is a definite upgrade.
