Anyone mate a Onkyo and Escient?

I have a Onkyo TX-SR804B as well as a recently purchased Escient DVDM-100. Anyone know of any kind of interface that can take place with the RS-232 ports between the two? The escient website has no info re: hooking up the two so I was wondering if anyone had tried and succeeded on their own with some sort of workaround.
