I have had other direct boxes and its always pretty straight forward. But I am trying to primarily use the box for unbalanced to unbalanced gain only. And to clean up alittle static noise out of my 1/8" out on my IMac to the amps powering my L/R and sub. Seems to me that the box is intended to go from balanced to unbalanced or vice versa only. I read something about looping the circuit for unbalanced to unbalanced, but dont get it. As of right now, I dont get any through put at all. Insite?

Thanks

Sorry, but I am lost from start to finish.

I don’t get it either. To what end? What’s the intent, and what does “looping the circuit” mean? And what is “through put?”

Some insight on the problem you’re having and/or what it is you’re trying to accomplish would be helpful. As it is you’ve merely given us the “mystery post of the day.” :)

BTW, the ART is not a direct box, and it does not clean up “static noise...”

Regards,
Wayne

Are you sure that you do not mean to refer to the use of an isolation transformer in order to eliminate a ground loop?

Static is generally an EMF issue and must be dealt with in a different manner.
