Hi, so I've done the hard part and produced some graphs. My first tests worked OK then I went back to refine everything and suddenly the capture button stopped working. Have tried reinstalling and rebooting, and reinstalling Java. When I click the button nothing happens.

One thing I have noticed is that when uninstalling REW it does not remove all traces of the program. Do I need to manually delete the program folder?

Also, when uninstalling there is a file called x.exe placed in the users/na folder (hovering over it says Duckware uninstaller). What is this for please?

Any help please?

Probably a bit hasty with the uninstalling and reinstalling, not being able to measure would typically be a problem with access to the audio input or output. You don't say anythign about what setup you are using for measurement so difficult to say much more on that, but REW saves log files in an REW folder in your home directory (location is shown in the Help -> About REW window), any error messages would end up there.

It is possible some setting is causing a problem, the best way to resolve that is to use the "Delete Preferences and shut down" option in the Preferences menu and then restart REW, that's equivalent to starting again from a fresh install.

The windows installer/uninstaller is a 3rd party package from Duckware.

If you are not running the V5.01 beta version it would be best to install that.

Hello John. Thanks for replying. I am using the latest beta. My problem was not not being able to measure. It was not being able to use the capture button to take a screenshot of the graphs.

Anyway, I did a Windows system restore and the button is back working again now :) Time to post my graphs soon ...

Sorry, my misunderstanding. If you get a chance to look at the log files it would be handy to know if anything was recorded in them.

The logs disappeared when I did a Windows restore. the only thing I can think that may have caused it is I ran a freeware program called Greenshot to take some screen grabs in between the button working and not working.

I'm having the exact same problem. It worked at first but then stopped working. Was using the beta. Now trying the 5.0 stable, but same issue. I can see the camera icon rise when mouse is over, and when I click it goes back down but nothing happens

That's helpful, thanks. I suspect there are two ways to fix that. Either use the "Delete preferences and shut down" option in the preferences menu and restart REW (but you will lose all stored settings so soundcard input and output, cal files etc will need to be reselected) or use regedit to delete the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/JavaSoft/Prefs/room eq wizard/lastjpgwidth. I'll put a fix in the next beta.

This worked, thanks!

I thought uninstalling the program would reset the preferences :)

Looking forward to the update
