Hello everyone. This is my first post. I just got as far as calibrating my new Clarett 8PreX and I'm not thrilled with what came out. Down 3 db at 18.438 kHz. I would expect a pro machine to be better. has anyone had experience with this unit or any Clarett, or the Antelope or UAD for that matter. I need to return this one anyway because the meters aren't working properly. I'm wondering if it's just a defective unit. I will continue testing but I wanted to get some feedback while I decide to upgrade or not. Thank you!

Bit odd considering the spec is 20 Hz to 20 kHz +/- 0.1 dB. Need to watch out for resampling happening in the OS, that can give a false impression. Post the mdat file from the measurement if you'd like it checked to see if anything looks amiss.

Thank You JohnM. here is the mdat. I'm just getting to know the program but what I looked at seems a little off.

Very clean. Looks like they have chosen to have very flat reconstruction filtering (no HF ripple) trading that against earlier roll-off. How is it at 48k sampling? I suspect the 20 Hz to 20 kHz +/- 0.1 dB only applies at 88.2k and above.

My bad. I must've mismatched sampling rates. I just did 48 and it looks great, right up to spec. Then I tried 44.1 and it kept coming up useless. Then I turned off the Clarett and on again, changed nothing and got something acceptable but not a good looking line. I know that I've been dealing with much human error on my part but it just seems the Clarett is unreliable. Talking to tech support at Focusrite they determined that the meters weren't working properly so I know the unit is defective. I just don't know to what extent. As I've had problems with Focusrite interfaces before, I'm trading it in for an Antelope Zen Tour. I'll let you know what I come up with. Sweetwater BTW has been unbelievably helpful. Thank you for your help. This is a great forum.
