The help files (#3) plainly says that microphone inputs are NOT suitable and shouldn't be used. Yet I find posts where folks say no sweat if you switch the control panel options from mic in to line in.
Well sure, if the mic input can be switched to a line input, then it's now a line input and as such it can be used for REW.
BTW I have a Dell Vostro 1000 with a built in ATI AC'97 IXP SB600 sound controller with Sigma Tel software. Will such a computer sound card yield satisfactory results with REW or not?
If the card has a line input, either dedicated or one that can be switched from a mic input, then it can be used.
