So I have found a Crown XLS 602D new in the box for 234 shipped, with a full warranty. I am planning on powering an RL-p12 or maybe the 15 inch. I haven't decided just yet. Is this a good amp for the job? Thanks for the help!

Hi Charlie,

Sounds like it would do the job. 1600 W @ 4 ohms and 1200 W @ 8 ohms should be plenty. Crown amps have a good reputation, and that seems to be a pretty good price.

That is more than 50% off. For your application it should be fine. It will actually output more than the rated power when limited to the low frequencies of a subwoofer amp. But remember it is rated for 8 ohms in bridged mono. I would consider two of the 4 ohm dual voice coil version RL-p12 in series to use with it.
