To be completely honest, I'm not certain you can exceed the SQ of an SVS sub using a Dayton driver. I think some of the PE drivers are a lot better then they're given credit for but SVS puts a tremendous amount of time and money into designing their subs and DSP tuning, which might be hard to beat for most DIY builds. It's possible to come close, or even match, but surpassing them is going to be quite a challenge.

I guess it depends what SQ you are currently getting with the ported PB-13 Ultra. Are you experiencing muddy sounding bass in music or HT in your room?
I hear port noise, besides I get lower SPL in the 50Hz range vs my old Beyma 12B100/R. I really would like to know which driver I can compare it against. I got the JL 13W7.
