I am having a problem trying to hook up a ext amp to Zone 2 for stereo listening. I have the Denon set for 7 channel with front height and everything souns great. When I add a ext amp to zone 2 on another set of speakers it comes through as distorted like a blown speaker. The amp id a Carver M-1.0t just re-furbed and checks out fine on another system. The speakers are B&W 802's and also check out fine. I have switched out all I/C's and switched the source (CD) from dig to analog-no avail. I put the amp into the main out on the Denon and the fronts (different speakers) with the same results. Any ideas??
Tanks for your time

Probably the line level out from the Denon is not matching with the Carver, since you mentioned that it works fine with some other system.

I had the same problem with my Denon X4000 adding a crown amp. Its a ground loop problem. Unhook everything from the Denon then start with the new amp. If the buzz is there the group look is at the plug, if no sound plug in one component at a time until you get the one causing the ground loop. For me it was the cable box and the coax cable going into it. I bought an lsolator like this http://www.21best.com/21_best/electronic/security/video/filters/for_sale_.html#CATV and it fixed the problem
