Hi

I just got a JBL GTO 1514 subwoofer driver, and I'm wondering is it just the exact same subwoofer as a JBO 1514D with just 1x voice coil disconnected?

JBL 1514
Voice coil resistance: 3.8 ohm
Total impedence: 4 ohm
Voice coil size: 2"
Sensitivity: 93 dB
350W RMS

JBL GTO 1514D
Voice coil resistance: 1.9 ohm
Total impedence: 2 or 8 ohm
Voice coil size: 2"
Sensitivity: 96 dB
350W RMS

I am building 2x sonotube dual opposed seal subs, running off a inuke 3000dsp.
I was gonna use 2x 4ohm drivers in each subwoofer, giving a 2 ohm load per enclosure.

Would I of been better of using the dvc driver?

All the DVC driver does is add flexibility for wiring the load differently. It sounds like you don't need the DVC since the 2 ohm load (two 4 ohm in ||) would maximize power from your NU3000.
