Hi. I am now getting ready to install my filters to the 1100P. I am a little confused as to what channel I am to install the filters on. Does it matter which channel they are installed on? I just noticed that I am coming out of my xeny502 on the L channel CD/Tape RCA outs but running to R channel of the AUX2 of my AVR...which channel should I select for the filter assignment?


EDIT: If my SW only plays between 30-100 hz. and I have my crossover for my mains set to 80hz, do I need any filters below 30hz or above 80hz. for my filter assig. to the 1100?

Sounds like you’re confusing all the hardware in front of the BFD with the BFD itself. The channel of the BFD you load filters into is the one you have connected to your system.

Generally, no. However, if your response below 30 Hz rolls out gradually, you can "buy" a bit more extension by booting below 30 Hz. But even this depends on your sub. If you have a ported sub, for instance, you shouldn't boost below the port's tuning frequency.

I'm assuming you are asking about "left" or "right" channels of the 1100P. If this is the case, as Wayne said, you will want to program the one connected to your system. Look at the back of the BFD and see which one of the inputs you used. I think input/output 1 corresponds to "Left" and input/output 2 corresponds to "right".
