I have a chance to pick up an elemental designs 16kv.2 driver in a 1.6 sealed box. It looks like the box was used in a car audio rig, not HT. I believe the eD stuff has a generally good reputation around here, and am wondering if this driver would be good in either a sealed or ported configuration for a budget, small space, not anywhere near reference levels type of HT set-up. :)

Do you have a WinISD file for it or the parameters? There was a D4 and a D2, which do you have?

The above is the only information I have on the driver - it is listed for sale locally, and I'm debating whether to grab it for a future project. Because we all know you can't have too many projects in the pipeline... :)

I tried to add a driver definition in WinISD, but my copy of the program decided today was a good day to get flaky. I can enter the params, but as soon as I try to model anything I get a floating point error. I'm not savvy enough to determine if this is a decent HT sub based on the parameters, but that Fs and Xmax get me kind of excited... :)

I tried entering the params as stated, but I think I might be doing something wrong. If I put that in WinISD I get a 10 cf boxed (sealed) with an f3 at 44 hz. Any thoughts from more experienced eyes?

Thanks Mike - from what I understand, it is currently in a 1.6 cf box but was used as part of a car audio system. Might take a swing at it in a sealed box, though even 18 x 18 x 18 is only 2.5 cf, and a 3 cf box might be larger than I really want for this project.

Any chance you can upload the driver file so I can play around with different models?
