So, just curious...when looking at room response, do people tend to look at the smoothed response or the raw data? And, if looking at smoothed, what level and why? (I've been mainly looking at 1/3 smoothing - but I had no reason to choose that...)

Thanks,

Mark

Some people prefer the raw response but some (me) dont. I use 1/3rd smoothing and I feel it give a bit of a better overall picture of the general response. Sometimes the narrow spikes wont really be noticeable audible anyway, and trying to correct them will be a lot of work for possibly no real gain. Also, a smoothed graph may highlight an area were a broad tweak will have a favourable result that would otherwise go un-noticed.

Other will no doubt have their own ideas, and maybe disagree with me, but thats where I'm coming from.
