Wow...Why does it need to be so tall? For the Maelstrom it only needed 7'

I guess I need to go with the 18hz tone.

MKTheater used 24" (he said they were actaully 23.5) tube cut to 72" with 8" ports (actually 7.5) that were 33 inches long, tuned to 13.5hz.

I don't know if his numbers are right but thats what he told me.

I understand.

I don't think this driver would work in something that big.

Maybe his numbers are wrong?

When I put the number he claims are tuned to 13.5hz into Sonosub I get a tuning of 27.1hz? But says he has done SPL test flat to 10hz at up to 120db with those numbers.

Height really isn't an issue. I have 9 foot ceilings. I am more scared by what Brett ad eD said about their being a point the enclosure becomes too big and the sub acts like it is moving in free air and can bottom out.

I don't nee much below 18hz to be honest but it seems like eeveryone goes low so i figured it was for a reason. I am an action movie junkie so if I can get more extension safely without too much of a trade off then I am certainly ok with it.

Ha ok, I never had 20' in mind, I probably wrote something dumb.

I am ok with height but the a7-900 only has an internal size of 10' for 2 of these drivers with a 1300 watt amp. I am sure I can get some more gain by going bigger but who knows where that limit is.

Ok,

I talked to a place with sonotubes near me and I think I might need some new numbers.

The inside of the Sono's is about 23" they said and for the ports the inside is closer to 7"

When I get the true inside numbers I will need a bit of help getting the port length for an 15hz tone at 6' tall

Will a tune that low hurt the driver at all?

I just got an idea...

Can I power the 2 woofers with LT1300 without a subsonic filter or is there a very cheap subsonic filter i can use with it? This is the amp that ED uses to power its A7-900 which is 2 x 19ov.02.

I am just thinking that i dont want to deal with the fan noise of the EP2500 but I will if this isn't am option.

I may just deal with the noise then. The EP2500 is more versitile for future use and if I need to spend the $100 on the eq.02 then it will go over my budget ($1300) since I need to pay for the woodwork for the end caps.

WOW! Finding sonotubes is hard around here. Been looking for 2 days and I need somewhere who will cut it so I can get it home in a sort of small truck. The only place that will cut it wants $150 for a single 24"
