Kevins a great bloke. Surely it wouldn't be bad form to give ones opinion on such a topic? After all its only ones opinion.

I have two Maelstrom-X's and wouldn't be upset to hear someone think theres something better out there.... there always is.

Not sure where you are coming from. The comment about the excursion graph is not making sense in particular.

The XXX has a linear motor based on split coil and also has aluminum shorting rings and a full aluminum cap on the motor. It also has more cooling built in and more wire in the vc's in total. The suspension bottoms out at about 60mm inward stroke compared to 40mm for the MX. No doubt as to which woofer gets into trouble first. The extra SD does make up for a lot though.

Those XXX's (spec's, and people impressions) sound super impressive.... extremely impressive actually.
