I recently assembled two subs. The first was a Shiva II in a 3cf enclosure with a 15" passive radiator (TC Sounds). The enclosure is a pre-built one from PE. It is tuned to 16 Hz. I use a miniDSP to equalize and for a high pass filter at 18Hz. I am very impressed with the results.
The second sub is a Tempest II in a 4cf enclosure with a 18" Exodus passive radiator tuned to 16Hz too. The enclosure was custom built for me. I use the miniDSP with this one too, again to equalize and for the high pass filter. Each sub can be equalized and crossed over seperately.
The output of the Tempest is several db higher but thats to be expected with a larger driver. Neither are showing any signs of distress that I have perceived even with very low frequency, high db sounds. Having two has once again tamed some room nodes.
I've taken some pictures and will post them a bit later today.
Both passive radiators are still breaking in. The TC Sound 15" especially as it's suspension is still VERY stiff. I don't think any measurements would show what the eventual resonant frequency and the frequency response will be. Eventually.

P.S. The 4cf cabinet was accidentally made with 1" thick mdf. What a wonderful accident!

This is the Shiva X-II in its almost completed 3 cf enclosure. The baffle still requires some cleaning up and the whole thing needs another coat of paint.
